２０１７年５月１７日 日本経済新聞で 日本の医療費と死亡率の全国平均を１００とした比較をしていました。結論を言うと長野県佐久市がダントツに医療費もがん死亡率も低い地方自治体となりました。
長野県が、健康長寿県になったのは、先人お二人の努力の賜物です。若月俊一さんと鎌田實さんです。若月俊一さんは 佐久市が日本一の健康長寿自治体にした立役者です。佐久総合病院を日本有数の総合病院に育てた医師です。鎌田實さんも諏訪中央病院を立派な病院にした立役者です。
お二人には､共通点があります。人生に生きがいを持ち､それを原動力にした食生活を通じた予防医学です。鎌田 實さんが ＮＨＫラジオで予防医療の講演をしていた番組をたまたま耳にすることが出来ました。まず最初に「生きがい」を持ってもらうことを啓蒙したそうです。仕事を持ち､仲間と温泉日帰旅行へ行ったり､孫にお小遣いをあげたりする「生きがい」を持つことが大事で そのことが「生きる力」になるとのことでした。「生きがい」を持つことで その「生きがい」のために 健康寿命を延ばす原動力にしたようです。長野県は、寒い関係もあり 「塩辛い」食事 と 「熱い」ものを冷まさずに食べることが 健康に悪影響を及ぼしていました。「塩辛い食事」は､高血圧､脳卒中 「熱い」ものは､喉頭がんです。老人ホームや諏訪市のイベントの啓蒙活動など 草の根運動で 食生活の改善を求めたようです。佐久市も同様の施策を採っていたので 佐久市の男性のがん死亡率は８３．６％となり、医療費のついても日本でトップレベルの少額となった。
小生自身の健康寿命を延ばすために 佐久市・茅野市の取り組みを参考にして 食生活を中心に見直していきたい。
